Alexandroupolis 840MW CCGT

Advanced Power Solutions

Engineering a "Zero-Failure" emergency fortress for one of Europe’s most critical energy junctions under global scrutiny.

The Mission

Provision of a mission-critical Emergency Diesel Generator for the landmark 840MW CCGT Power Plant in Alexandroupolis, Greece. As a cornerstone of regional energy security under international scrutiny, the “Zero-Failure” mandate for this project is absolute. Ergovolt is on-site to ensure the plant’s final line of defense is impenetrable.

The “Genset on Steroids” Specification

We are deploying a bespoke, “Total Protection” power module. This is not a standard installation; it is a high-performance integration of multiple life-safety and engineering systems:
  • Multi-Zoned Modular Architecture: A custom-engineered container featuring segregated, fire-compliant compartments for the Engine Room, Control Center, and Fuel Storage to ensure thermal isolation and maximum safety.
  • Maintenance-First Engineering: To facilitate seamless long-term support in a high-security zone, the engine room features a heavy-duty removable ceiling. This allows for vertical extraction of major components, eliminating the nightmare of horizontal disassembly during future overhauls.
  • Atmospheric Intelligence: Each compartment is equipped with independent HVAC systems and automated Electric Louvers on air inlets and outlets, synchronized with the engine’s thermal demands to maintain peak performance in all seasons.
  • Hardened Control Logic: Featuring advanced multi-protection controls and sensitive electronic governors, the system is designed to interface with the plant’s master SCADA, ensuring a 100% successful start-rate during a grid emergency.

Current Phase

The project is currently in the Active Mobilization Phase. Our engineering team is managing the complex integration of the fire-resistance systems and climate-control logic as the unit moves toward its final “Grid-Ready” status.
